Color-Changing White Russian
A white Russian generally calls for the cream on top, but make sure to save the best for last when you’re preparing a Unicorn Coffee. In a white Russian, the cream is the magical element that slowly mingles into the dark alcohol. With a Unicorn Coffee, the all-natural, cobalt blue vodka takes center stage.
History of the White Russian
The white Russian was invented by Gustave Tops in 1949. Gustave was Belgian, not Russian, but the primacy of vodka in the cocktail made it “Russian.”
The drink spread, but didn’t earn huge popularity until 1998. The Big Lebowski popularized the drink and fans took it up in droves — even adopting the nickname, “the Caucasian” for the cocktail.
Variations often substitute different creams to create different flavors. Unicorn Coffee is the latest evolution of the white Russian, offering a completely unique experience for fans of this iconic cocktail.
